Be a CFIC Spokesperson
|
The important work of the Center of Intergenerational Communication is carried forward by dedicated individuals who carry the message into their own and nearby communities. The message is delivered through presentations made before local civic groups, library audiences and in senior-oriented residential locations. In fact, your subject will be viable for virtually any serious community-minded group including church groups. CFIC team members also are trained how to be consistently quoted in local and regional press, appear on radio and local television.
You will be provided with outlined "scripts" from which you deliver your message in your own words and from your heart. The most effective spokespeople for CFIC are those whose lives have beenmost impacted by a familyu situation where communication failed or was missing altogether. They deliver the message with the most power and passion. |
Those just starting with the CFIC will be able to earn income through the sale of CFIC products which are obliquely referenced in the presentations. Your presentation for raising awareness of family communication is not a sales pitch. The tools produced by CFIC for raising critical questions and organizing important answers are a natural answer to your audiences’ question: “How do I do this myself?” You will have an answer and possibly a sale.

With a little experience presenting the CFIC story in your community, you will be ready for the next step in the training program. At this point you become a Family Communication Consultant.
In this role, you will not be limited to delivering a “kit” for a family to assemble the data themselves. Rather you would consult with the family for a fee. It is important, however, that you are ready for the unpredictable dynamics of family interaction when the subject of inheritance and money are involved. Most families are in full agreement about the process and your role is merely to guide them to the assembly of their intentions and wishes in a recorded form. You will not be dispensing legal or accounting advice.

Additional sources of income as a member of the CFIC team include becoming an expert in assisting people in telling their life stories. You will use a set of tools designed to properly interview an individual, record his or her answers and, in the end, producing a hard-cover biography that will become a family heirloom. This program is under development and will be known as a MASTER IN FAMILY BIOGRAPHY.
Finally, CFIC is developing a FAMILY COMMUNICATION SEMINAR SERIES, which, as a member of our team, you would host. In simplest terms, you would work with local providers of relevant information and services (financial planners, estate planning experts, housing for older citizens, funeral facilities and others) and host a seminar and mini-expo in a local hotel. Revenue is generated by registration and exhibit fees most of which is yours to keep after expenses. The CFIC will provide you with everything you need to make it happen.
Please feel free to review the training programs described in the link pages indicated.
